Circle Dance: They Can Cut All The Flowers But They Can't Stop The Spring From Coming
Sunday 15th March, 2pm-8pm.
Please join us once again to commemorate the passing of winter and the coming of spring at our home in the Avalon Cafe, South Bermondsey.
Lineup:
Owen Spafford - with pedals, amps, electronics and fiddle, Owen is one of the most exciting musicians in London right now. From heart-tugging laments, through rigs and reels and into the cosmic never-never, this guy can shred. We've been lining this one up for a while and can't wait to hear what he brings to the circle.
Mochyn Daer - Welsh drone-ista Mochyn Daer will be blowing up a spring awakening through a menagerie of shruti boxes, gongs, electronics, found sound and folkloric song.
And the Circle Dance DJs will be playing chuggy, dubby, wonked-up wigged-out euphoro-ballearica through the afternoon and into the evening for the Sunday night steppers.
We'll also have our usual selection of short films to kick things off, fresh hot vegan food, a warm cafe and all the libations the Avalon bar has to offer, plus an iftar offering for those observing Ramadan.
Proceeds to Palestinian solidarity.
Tickets £10 in advance. Once again, we're offering a 'solidarity ticket' option, so if you would like to contribute a little more to our Gaza relief fundraising effort, we've included a £15 option. We've so far raised almost £8000 for emergency organisations in Palestine but as the war continues so does the need for support.
Ill, disabled or on UC? Drop us a line and we'll sort you out - no one turned away for lack of funds.
This earth divided we will make whole
So it will be a common treasury for all
