A Sunday in Spring Circle Dance

Sunday 2nd March, 2pm-9pm.

Please join us once again to commemorate the passing of winter and the coming of spring at our home in the Avalon Cafe, South Bermondsey.

Pastoral psychedelic sound to move your hearts and arses.

We're very happy to welcome academic and writer Annebella Pollen to the circle to talk to us about her research on The Kindred of the Kibbo Kift: a mysterious, stylish, folk-modernist movement of utopian seekers who sought to ramble their way to world peace. A strange, intriguing and undeniably weird product of the 1920s, we'd like to think there'd be a few circle dancers among the Kindred's number and Annebella is the person to introduce them to us.

We'll also be bringing Nomieye to the Cafe for the first time for a live set of pastoral ambient jazz landscapes. With modular synth, trombone and a battery of effects, this is set to be very special – fans of Jeremiah Chiu or Lynn Avery this is definitely for you.

We'll be running warm, wonky, balearic bubblers all afternoon and into the evening for an extended dance soundtracked by an all-star cast of Circle Dance DJs, so definitely bring your dancing shoes for this one.

We'll also have our usual selection of films to kick things off, fresh hot vegan food, a warm cafe and a bar that doesn't take the piss.

Proceeds to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Tickets £8 in advance. Once again, we're offering a 'solidarity ticket' option, so if you would like to contribute a little more to our Gaza relief fundraising effort, we've included a £15 option. We've so far raised almost £4000 for emergency organisations in Palestine but as the war continues so does the need for support.

Ill, disabled or on UC? Drop us a line and we'll sort you out - no one turned away for lack of funds.

This earth divided we will make whole
So it will be a common treasury for all
